Theory of Contraints (TOC)
Intuitively, every manager knows that their organization is a chain of dependent resources, functions and people. Organizations and management teams, however, have a basic tendency to define problems, construct solutions, and implement initiatives in isolation of each other. At any one time, there is often a long list of on-going initiatives within different areas of a company consuming large amounts of resources, with little or no idea how the "defined" problems fit together, how the "solutions" impact each other, or the net effect to the entire organization. This presentation will show how the Theory of Constraints (TOC) allows companies to effectively maximize the Return on Investment (ROI) equation by creating solutions that utilize a system's performance by identifying, exploiting, and synchronizing around critical leverage points. Achieve Global Maximizing Your Supervisory Potential
In today’s business environment, supervision represents one of the most important skills for achieving extraordinary organizational results. It is that supervisory role that has the greatest impact – on you as an individual, on your employees, and on the organization. In the past, organizations could identify the most competent “doer” of a task or operation and promote him or her to a supervisory role. Often these new supervisors would be thrown into their role with little or no preparation or training. Organizations would expect them to learn what they needed to know purely by trial and error. Preparation for the critical role of the supervisor can no longer be left to chance. Mastery of the fundamentals for success will help ensure a smooth transition for supervisors and employees alike. This one-day seminar is designed to provide an overview of the role of the new supervisor. The day is divided along two themes – the hallmarks of supervisory success and delegating for shared success. The purpose of the session is to help participants develop strategies to effectively assume the challenging role of the supervisor and to developed the planning, interpersonal, and follow-up skills critical for successful delegating. Upon completion of the seminar, participants will be able to: Manage the transition to a supervisory role; Outline actions to build credibility; Identify strategies to gain the commitment of others; Connect departmental and organizational goals; Build constructive relationships with others; Plan tasks to delegate and align the tasks with the appropriate staff; Conduct a delegation conversation; Identify follow-up actions to ensure delegation success

This course is designed for individuals who have recently been promoted to supervisory positions. As a result of the business environment in which they operate, new – and even tenured supervisors and managers frequently find themselves performing an awkward and uncomfortable balancing act. Many tend to revert back to the “comfort zone” of operational activities. They must strive every day to balance the elements of their new job responsibilities. This new one-day course covers two modules of the Achieve Global Achieving Results Through Genuine Leadership™ program – The Hallmarks of Supervisory Success and Delegating for Shared Success. The purpose of the two modules is to help new supervisors effectively transition into the new role of the supervisor and to develop the planning, interpersonal, and follow-up skills critical for successful delegating. Upon successful completion of the seminar, participants will be able to: •Manage the supervisory transition; •Identify strategies to gain the commitment of others; •Build constructive relationships with employees and engage management support; •Understand personal delegation styles; •Plan and align tasks with the appropriate staff; •Conduct delegation conversations and effective follow-up actions for success
