Online Grant Development Certificate Program
The Certificate Program has been designed to match future required national competencies of the GPCI (Grant Professionals Certification Institute) of the American Association of Grant Professionals. (www.grantprofessionals.org).
The Online Certificate in Grant Development and Management consists of the following required courses:

Sequence
Grant Development I is the first in the series of six online courses developed and offered completely online.
- Grant Development I must be taken as the first course in the series.
- Grant Development II, III, or IV can be taken in any order of preference.
- Grant Development V and VI can only be taken after completion of I, II, III, and IV.
These two final courses must be taken during the same quarter at the same time.

Q. How will I know what courses are being offered in the future?

You may also enroll in future courses using the same method used to enroll in Grant Development I.
Students who successfully complete all online courses in this series will receive a Certificate of Completion and specialization in Grant Development and Management from Washington State Community College.
Q. Why enroll?
A. Grant writing is an emerging and necessary skill in a variety of professional settings. With federal, state, and local budget cuts hitting from seemingly all directions, more and more organizations (both profit and nonprofit) are being forced to look at alternative methods of funding established as well as new programs and services. This course will prepare participants to seek grant funding as an alternative funding source to supplement organizational budgets and needs.

A. This course is targeted for employees of non-profit, educational, or government agencies of all types. Individuals who are interested in learning to write grant proposals, starting a grant writing consulting business, or securing a future job in a non-profit, educational, or government agency will also benefit from this course. College students or graduates with a degree in education, social-service, art, technology, or business will get an edge in the job market by learning a specialized skill to complement their degree.

Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA)
The MCSA is one of the hottest computer technician certifications on the market. You have two ways to earn this international recognized certification: Option One: Take the A+ and Network+ Certification Trainings, and the trainings for Microsoft Exams 70-270, 70-290, 70-291 listed below and pass all exams. Cost $5,532 (this cost represents a 25% discount if registering for the entire program and includes registration and technology fees, all course materials and one free test per course.) Option Two: Take the Security + Certification Training and the trainings for Microsoft exams 70-270, 70-290, 70-291, and pass all exams. Cost: $4,785 (this cost represents a 25% discount if registering for the entire program and includes registration and technolgy fees, all course materials and one free test per course.) For those who are already A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certified, a 25% discount will still be applied to the cost if signing up for the balance of the program. Q. What are the topics to be covered in EKG/Cardiovascular Technician?
A. This comprehensive EKG Technician Program prepares students to function as EKG/Cardiovascular Technicians or Technologists. These tests include basic EKGs, Holter Monitoring (portable EKG which records activity for 24-48 hours), 12-lead placement, and Stress Tests (treadmill). They assist a physician in diagnosing and treating cardiac and blood vessel irregularities.

Pharmacy Technician Questions and Answers
Q. What are the topics to be covered in Pharmacy Technician?
A. This comprehensive 50-hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination.
Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reimbursement.
Q. What do Pharmacy Technicians do?
A. Pharmacy Technicians work in pharmacies under the direction of a pharmacist. Their main responsibility is filling prescriptions according to doctors’ orders. Pharmacy Technicians prepare medications for dispensing to patients. This generally includes retrieving drugs in the correct dosage form and strength, measuring the appropriate amount of drug, and producing a prescription label. Pharmacy Technicians work with drugs to be administered orally, topically, for the eye, nose, etc. Depending upon the practice setting, a Pharmacy Technician is also involved in the admixture of drugs for intravenous use. Other duties include:
- Checking inventories & ordering supplies;
- Pricing and filing prescriptions;
- Assisting customers & maintaining patient profiles;
- Keeping pharmacy work areas clean;
- Completing insurance forms

A. Exam costs $120 with an application. Exam requirements include a high school diploma or a GED and you must not have been convicted of a felony. The exams can be taken nation wide, including at least 2 locations in each state, and are offered 3 times per year (March, July and November). Hospitals typically prefer this National Certification.
Although not a calculated figure (or tracked), we estimate that over 80% of the individuals who successfully complete our course pass the PTCB certification exam. For additional information on the PTCB exam, please refer to your student packet or visit the Pharmacy Technician Board at www.ptcb.org.

Information on Real Estate Appraising:
There are separate licensing requirements for becoming a Certified Real Estate Appraiser. A person does not have to be a licensed Real Estate Sales Agent to begin studying to become a Real Estate Appraiser.
The education requirements for becoming a Certified Real Estate Appraiser include 90 hours of instruction. New rules proposed for increasing the amount of education from 90 hours to 150 hours will be effective in 2008. The Real Estate Appraising course offered through the Center for Business and Technology at Washington State Community College (REAL-241) qualifies for 30 hours of pre-certifying instruction for real estate appraising education.
Ohio is not a mandatory state for state licensure for real estate appraisers. Appraisers must meet minimum qualifications established by the National Appraisal Standards Board of the Appraisal Foundation. Appraisers who choose to become licensed, certified, or registered with the Ohio Division of Real Estate will do so in one of the following categories:
