  • Grant Development I must be taken as the first course in the series.
  • Grant Development II, III, or IV can be taken in any order of preference.
  • Grant Development V and VI can only be taken after completion of I, II, III, and IV. These two final courses must be taken during the same quarter at the same time.
How will I know what courses are being offered in the future? All courses in the certificate program will be offered and repeated on an on-going sequential basis. Visit www.wscc.edu and click on the web advisor link to search quarterly course listings. Grant Development and Management Courses may be listed in the Business Management section, the Online section, or the Business and Industry section. You may also enroll in future courses using the same method used to enroll in Grant Development I.

Students who successfully complete all online courses in this series will receive a Certificate of Completion and specialization in Grant Development and Management from Washington State Community College.

Why Enroll? Grant writing is an emerging and necessary skill in a variety of professional settings. With federal, state, and local budget cuts hitting from seemingly all directions, more and more organizations (both profit and nonprofit) are being forced to look at alternative methods of funding established as well as new programs and services. This course will prepare participants to seek grant funding as an alternative funding source to supplement organizational budgets and needs.

Who should attend? This course is targeted for employees of non-profit, educational, or government agencies of all types. Individuals who are interested in learning to write grant proposals, starting a grant writing consulting business, or securing a future job in a non-profit, educational, or government agency will also benefit from this course. College students or graduates with a degree in education, social-service, art, technology, or business will get an edge in the job market by learning a specialized skill to complement their degree.

Refund Policy: Fees will be refunded for participants who withdraw no fewer than three days prior to the start date of the course. The college’s standard refund policy does not apply.
