Achieve Global Maximizing Your Supervisory Potential
In today’s business environment, supervision represents one of the most important skills for achieving extraordinary organizational results. It is that supervisory role that has the greatest impact – on you as an individual, on your employees, and on the organization. In the past, organizations could identify the most competent “doer” of a task or operation and promote him or her to a supervisory role. Often these new supervisors would be thrown into their role with little or no preparation or training. Organizations would expect them to learn what they needed to know purely by trial and error. Preparation for the critical role of the supervisor can no longer be left to chance. Mastery of the fundamentals for success will help ensure a smooth transition for supervisors and employees alike.

This one-day seminar is designed to provide an overview of the role of the new supervisor. The day is divided along two themes – the hallmarks of supervisory success and delegating for shared success. The purpose of the session is to help participants develop strategies to effectively assume the challenging role of the supervisor and to developed the planning, interpersonal, and follow-up skills critical for successful delegating.

Upon completion of the seminar, participants will be able to:
  • Manage the transition to a supervisory role;
  • Outline actions to build credibility;
  • Identify strategies to gain the commitment of others;
  • Connect departmental and organizational goals;
  • Build constructive relationships with others;
  • Plan tasks to delegate and align the tasks with the appropriate staff;
  • Conduct a delegation conversation;
  • Identify follow-up actions to ensure delegation success
